Elsa, a new Knit-a-long!

Here she is, the Elsa Shawlette!  Isn't she pretty? She's a lovely little song of lace knitted in my new Lyric yarn.

I usually do a mystery shawl, but this time I decided to do a knit-a-long instead.  One pretty design with enough interesting lace to keep you happy, one stunning singles yarn!  Perfect for summer knitting.  Nothing heavy or warm, just pretty lace which you can wear right now in air conditioning or later snuggled around your neck when the weather cools off.

Look what my wonderful test knitter, Linda did.  I always find it interesting to see a design in different colorways.

Here are the details:

One skein of Lyric yarn - 100% sw merino, approx 400 yards in a singles construction.   Yep, it's curly, but all curls and tiny kinks just work out as you knit.  It is simply the best singles yarn on the market.  It's that good!

Colorways - Cool, Violet, Candy.

One pretty pattern, sent to you via email when I mail out the yarn.  No scattered clues, it's all in one pattern.

A KAL in my Ravelry PennyRoses forum, in case you have any questions or need help.

Cost?  $28 + first class shipping.

When?  to be mailed out approx on July 1, just in time for vacation knitting.

Where?  in my Etsy shop:

Walking Woman

9120 steps!  My sister did over 15, 000 steps today.  Is she amazing or what?

Elder DD, my sister and I had a ladies' day in New York City on Saturday.  We basically walked around, checked out a couple of stores, and ate and chatted.  Lots of walking, lots of chatting.  It was such fun, and because of all the walking that we all do, we were not terribly tired at the end of the day, either.  Elder DD is a New Yorker, and consequently, she walks all the time.

Might Mouse walks again.  I wonder if I can reach 10, 000 steps in a week or two?  Maybe.  Very possible.

Whoo hoo!

Working on Roses and Chevrons

I was going to flip them to miter them but I kind of like it as is.  It's prettier than my crummy photography shows.

Shameless Hussy

I'm a Shameless Hussy!  It's such fun.  Years ago, I went to the opera with a dear friend.  His wife didn't want to go because we'd get home so late, so my friend asked me to be his opera date.  On the way into the city (NYC) we were laughing about the term, shameless hussy.  So off we went to the Metropolitan Opera (don't remember which opera it was), and during an intermission, we wandered off into the book store.  The shop was crowded with very well-dressed people, including some in evening wear.  My friend and I got separated and he wanted my attention.  So, in a nice loud tone he yelled out:  "Hey, Shameless, where are you?"  Every head in that store came up.  We had the entire place's attention.  So I answered back (but not too loudly,  There are limits.):  "Here I am."   The two of us were so cool about it.  Bad people, but fun, fun, fun.  And that's one reason why I'm an SH!

Most of the time, I'm shy, quiet and demure, but every now and then, the SH comes out.  Yes!

We were chatting about shameless hussies on the PennyRoses forum on Ravelry the other day, and I thought it would be such fun to dye up a bunch of shameless yarn in shameless colorways.  So I did.  And here's the result:

Gina Yarn!  50/50 superwash merino/silk yarn with 430+ yards of soft, shamelessly wonderful yarn!  You can't see that silk sheen in the picture, but it's there in real life.  It is truly beautiful!

Where?  In my Etsy shop, of course.

I'm adding them gradually.
