The Yarnarian? The dyer/knitter/crocheter? The one who hasn't blogged in forever? I flew out to Minnesota for Miss P's 8th birthday and had such a grand time. DD & SIL live in a wonderful area of Minneapolis called "50th & France", and let me tell you what neat shops there are. The ones on the Edina side are very pricey, but lovely, and the Minneapolis ones are useful and affordable. I tried to walk down to France most days, and did get sucked into the Bead Monkey. I adore beaded jewelry, but can't figure out how to use a needle-nosed plier. Stop laughing. Yarn I can manipulate, but not pliers. Still I did buy some elastic thread and some beads and made a bracelet, but it keeps falling apart on me. What I need is the Hubbo to really want to finish jewelry items for me, and then I can go to town. Hah! Bad Hubbo.
Then Miss P and I flew home, where she stayed with us until Wednesday. An entire week of a very energetic, funny, goofy 8 year old. We did the New York thing, went to the movies, took her to neat restaurants, did the shore bit, etc, etc. Her list of things to do included the Empire State Building and the American Museum of Natural History. Needless to say, we all had a wonderful time, and the Hubbo and I are zonked. This is why young women have kids, and not old bats like me. It amazes me that I was able to run like that with 2 kids. However did I do it? Well, I was a lot younger, that's for sure.
And here's the best part of the trip: Miss P decided before we booked flights, that she was old enough to fly with a flight attendant accompanying her, brave kid that she is. It all worked out beautifully, she got home just fine, and I'm willing to bet that she will want to do it again. She is one intrepid child.
And now my house is soooo quiet. Not bad, though. It's just the 2 of us for a couple of weeks and then The Kid descends upon us. 10 years old and delightful. Gotta catch my breath first, though.
Pics? I'm too busy catching up on stuff to take them, but I'll work on it this weekend and have some nice posts or 2 next week.

Sounds like you've been having more than your share of fun. Hope two weeks is long enough for your recovery.
Glad to see you surface again! Sounds like you had wonderful time. It seems to me from my older friends that grand-motherhood is a lot more fun than motherhood. Can this be true?
