Every March, the Sock Madness Forever group on Ravelry hosts the annual craziness of competitive sock knitting. This year we have 14 teams, and I'm on Team Lace. AND, I just finished my socks for round 2. I started about 4:30 PM on Fri, and finished up today around 10 AM. Yippee! I've made it to the next round.
This is such fun. And now I'm really tired. Let me tell you that quickly knitting a pair of cable socks on 2.25mm needles is not exactly easy. Well, it's not hard; it's the speed of it that is challenging.

It's here!
The annual spring poem
High up, over the tops
Of the feathery grasses, the grasshoppers hop.
They won't eat their suppers,
They will not obey
Their grasshopper mothers and fathers who say:
"Listen my children, this must be stopped.
Now is the time your last hop should be hopped.
So come eat your suppers and go to your beds."
But the little grasshoppers just shake their green heads.
"No, no," the naughty ones say.
"All we have time to do now is to play.
If we are hungry we'll nip at a fly,
Or nibble a blueberry as we go by.
But not now. Now we must hop.
And no one, but no one can make us stop."
Or nibble a blueberry as we go by.
But not now. Now we must hop.
And no one, but no one can make us stop."
Of course, we're supposed to get snow today. Sigh.
Here's my sister's annual spring poem, starting with the original version:
Spring has sprung.
The grass has riz.
I wonder where the birdies is.
Some say the bird is on the wing.
But that’s absurd.
The wing is on the bird.
And my 2015 version:
Spring has sprung.
The grass has not riz,
I have no idea where the birdies is.
Some say the warmth is on the way.
But that’s absurd, the snow will have its day.
The grass has not riz,
I have no idea where the birdies is.
Some say the warmth is on the way.
But that’s absurd, the snow will have its day.

Design Floor Monday
Tipsy Tumblers!
The Missouri Star Quilt Company featured the Tipsy Tumbler tutorial way back in November, and I put it on my list of quilts to make. So I started this the other day and it is such fun: mindless with no points other than fitting the blocks together.
I'm using a charm pack and a layer cake of white. I have some yardage of the blue fabrics and I'll use them as borders and binding.

Design floor Monday
I've been missing in action due to Sock Madness Forever (#9) on Ravelry. I finished the first round and now I have time to sew again. Yay, sewing!
So, here she is, my Parquet Quilt. I think this is the final layout, but I'll look at it again before sewing the blocks together. It's spoken for already.
And, if you are interested, here's the first pair of socks for SM9, modeled on the Hubz' feet. The top pic shows the mods that I did the correct number of pattern repeats (the safety pins) and that the foot is long enough. Oh, is that foot long enough. Mr. Hubz has large feet!
