The Inept Quiltarian finishes the I Spy quilt

I cannot tell you just how much fun this was to assemble.  I think my favorite part of quilting is selecting fabrics and then arranging the blocks.  I can play around with this for hours.  Each little block took 3 fabrics, 243 fabric moments.  I put fabrics together, changed my mind, did it again and again, and just loved the entire process.

Since I am an Inept Quiltarian,  my cutting was off, my seams were never uniform.  Didn't matter.  Bias is my friend, and these little guys came together reasonably well.  Most of my points match!  And where they didn't, eh, who cares.  It's cute and fun.

Now I need to find some cute kid fabric for the back and the binding.  I might have to force myself to do another one of these in batiks.  It's tough having to pick out fabrics, but someone's got to do it.

What a great I Spy quilt. I love looking at the fabrics. You are going to make someone very happy.

Thanks, LuAnn. This is for our youngest grand, who is 16 months old. I figure he'll have a few years of playing with it, and then he can turn it into a tent.

You were busy this past week! Your quilt looks GREAT!! What fun. And I love picking the fabric the best, too.

Your quilt is adorable. I agree with you about bias--you can make almost anything fit. And what it doesn't can be forced into submission with a steam iron!!

What a great I-Spy quilt! I also love choosing the colors and arranging the blocks (and probably spend more time than I should on those parts as a result). Your grandson will love this quilt for years.

The best thing about point matching is that you can't really match the center block; the points are deliberately cut off. Yeah, cut-off points!

Great job, this quilt is fabulous ... but it's going to cost me a lot of money. I absolutely must redo my whole apartment in Corn Dogs and Cheeseburgers!

I love all the chicken ones. I have a bit of leftover chicken fabric and have about 1/2 yard of egg yolk fabric. Can you just see this? snort. giggle.

Lucky is the recipient of this colorful I Spy Quilt. Little ones don't care if points match. They rather play I Spy. You motivate me to start one.

This has become my new monomania. I can't live a happy, fulfilled life until I have Chaise-burger lounge and mustard colored draperies with ornate Corn(DOG)ices. Sorry, but since you sent me down this path of madness, I just had to share (inflict) this.

it is very colorful and cheerful it looks good to me and if anyone wants to look closely at your seams that is their problem! The main thing is to enjoy making your quilts.
