EPP, the mother of all slow stitching. Here are this weeks blocks for Whirligig. Aren't they cute? Slower than a sloth, but fun to make.
I work on my blocks at breakfast. The Hubz and I eat breakfast together on our sun porch, and I like to linger over my tea, so doing a bit of handwork, chatting and sipping tea go nicely together.
I have about 30 blocks waiting to be joined. This week, I attached 2 of them. The goal is to finish by next July. Maybe?
Here are the new joinings plus possible blocks to add next. I"m leaning towards the bottom picture.
I've linked this post to Kathy's Quilts.

Diamonds and Rust
No longer a blob, but a wondrous shawl! I love, love, love this thing. Love the design, the yarn (Wendy's Wonders on Etsy. This is the lace shawl yarn: 875 yards, 80/20 merino/silk, color - Saguaro). Design is by Anna Victoria on Ravelry, my favorite lace shawl designer!!
Started July 10; finished July 21.
Photos taken on my deck and somewhat muted by the light. The color of the first picture is very accurate.

Blob and unblob
Lace shawls in 2 forms: blob (i.e. unblocked), and unblob (blocked).
This is the Diamonds and Rust pattern by Anna Victoria, and it is not blocked! In total blob form. I"ll probably wash it tomorrow and will post pics then. Wait until you see how it changes!
Next is Mermaid's Lair, also by Anna Victoria. Do you sense a pattern here? (bad pun) I love working her shawls. They are challenging enough to keep me on my toes (I count a lot), fun to make and stunning when finished (and blocked).
Here's Mermaid's Lair in blob form and unfinished.

Slow Stitching
EPP is very very slow work. Mindless beyond words, but slow. Here's my progress for the week.
And that's all I have to report.

A Finished String Quilt
Odds and ends of reds, off-whites, blues, and a bit of pale sea green tossed in. It ended up looking somewhat patriotic, which was not my intention, but I kind of like it.
Quilt by me. Legs, feet and hands by the Hubz. Weird lighting by the sun, clouds, and such.

Strings and Blobs
So I have another quilt that needs to be bound. This one is my usual string quilt, which is my all-time favorite quilt to make: all the fun of color play, and mindless sewing. I just finished cutting off the backing and batting, and the quilt is hanging out on my dining room table. I'll make the binding later on and then sew and hand-sew.
And, here's the latest lace blob picture.
And the lace blob on top of the string quilt.
And that's it. Whirligig proceeds slowly, so not much point in taking a picture of an added block. But stay tuned, at some point I'll photograph something here.
