How I make my blocks

EPP is pretty straight-forward, but every now and then, you have to figure out the order of how to assemble the little pieces. The blocks for Valse Brillante have a center hexagon, and two different blades.  If you look closely, you can see that the bottoms of the blades are angled.  These are my home-made templates. You can see the angles very well.

These two pictures show 2 ways I can sew the blades together.  The top one has the blades joined so that they form a solid line to match up with the hexie.  The second pic shows another way to join them so that they match up with the corners of the hexie.

I use the top method just because it's easier to join with the center.  What I do is join 2 blades together, and then attach each pair to the hexie.

Basically, I go around in a circle attaching the blade pairs.  In this pic, the blades now have to be joined together.

And here is the finished block.

And another one:

I think I would attach them the way you do as well - to the flat side of the hexie. Looking good!!!
