Do you like lace but are a bit afraid of really thin yarn? Do I have a yarn for you!
This is Lili Lace Yarn: 875 yards of a 2-ply, slightly heavier lace wt yarn in 100% merino. It knits and crochets up so easily. I've done so many shawls from "regular" lace yarn, and I love it, but for ease and speed, Lili yarn tops it. There's just enough weight to it, so that you don't feel as if it's going to slide off your needles, and the stitches are really easy to see (especially if your eyes are not as young as they were.) Price is a very competitive $30/skein. Needle size can go from a 2 or 3 to a 6, if you like your shawls to be really lacy. It is a glorious yarn to work with, I can promise you that!
Cameras and lights and monitors being what they are, the colors in the picture are pretty accurate (at least on my monitor). The upper left hand yarn, the purple one, is move vivid and so is the upper right hand one. That one is called Paprika, and really looks like the real thing. Given that I'm Hungarian, I know the color of paprika, and this is it.
Where? In my Etsy shop, of course!
A hint on working with any lace yarn: use needles with a tiny bit of drag to them. The Knit Pro wooden ones are perfect. A good sharp point, and the yarn doesn't slide off the way it would with a metal needle. Addi lace needles are also very good. Bamboo will work well provided that the point is sharp.

Go, grab a towel.
Why? Because you'll need it when you look at the latest lace yarn and colorways! This is drool city here! The pictures will not do the yarns justice, but then they never do. In real life, there is so much vitality to each colorway. And if you don't buy them, then they are Mine, all Mine! Mwahahahaha!
The new yarn is called Lili Yarn: 100 grams, approx 875 yards, 100% SW merino*, and a slightly heavier lace weight than my usual lace yarns. If you've been reluctant to try lace yarns, this is a great place to begin. There's more heft to Lili Yarn, and yet it still is pretty skinny. I'm knitting up a design on it, very very early stages, and as usual I've frogged it at least 5 times. The yarn looks as good as new, and is so pleasant to work with. I may never go back to lighter lace yarn again! Price? $33 a skein of incredible wonderful yarn, hand dyed by me, and in one-of-a-kind colorways.
*About that superwash merino: I would never wash a shawl in the washing machine, especially one is lace weight yarn. So why even buy sw yarn for dyeing? Because it takes color so quickly and so easily, and I love dyeing it. So it's there for your information, but I never machine wash lace.
So here's the yarn. Get your towel ready so you don't get your keyboard soggy! You might want to click on them to get the full effect. Each colorway consists of at least 2 colors, and the greens have 3-4 colors in each skein.
In order: Carnation, Pink, Grape Juice, and Wild Orchid.
In order: Sea Spell, Evergreen, and Grass.
In order: Toffee, Rose Bouquet, and Light Coral.
OK, all yarns are now posted in my Etsy Shop. Go forth and buy!

Stuff and more stuff!
1. Did I ever tell you that you all raised $250 for NAMI?
2. The Hubbo had a cataract operation very early this morning, and he's doing very well. I remember the grim old days, when my grandfather had to lay in bed without moving and sandbags around his head. Now, you have an operation, and you're zippy zippy practically immediately.
3. I might be catching a cold from you-know-who. She brought it with her, and I might have it. Piffle.
4. I have a new scarf blocking on the guest room floor. Pics tomorrow or whenever it's dry. And I have to write up the pattern. Very cute scarf, too. I'm calling it the Janus scarf, since it looks both ways.
5. Take a peak at my new yarn, which needs a name. I'm thinking of calling it Lili yarn after Little Lili, the wonder toddler. The cost will be $20/skein. 100% merino, but HANDWASH! It's worth handwashing, too.
This is what it looks like when dyed with a darker color and more contrast between the darker ply and the lighter ones. It works up and looks like ragg!
Here's what it looks like with less contrast between the darker ply and the lighter ones, and also this one has variegation but in the same general family. It knits up as a heathery yarn.
This is 100% merino, but 2 of the plies are not superwash, so it's handwashing for this yarn. The effect is so cool, that it's really worth a couple of minutes of soaking, and gently squeezing, and drying flat.
I'm not ready to sell it yet; I dyed up only 4 skeins, gave my sister one with reds and pins. This one looks like the red and white string that is used by bakeries. But it's soft, cozy wool and delightful against the skin.
However, here is a bit of a dye-up. All are Gina SW merino/silk in heavier fingering wt and approx 400+ yards. This is the most gorgeous yarn. It has all the good properties of wool with that soft sheen of silk. Each skein is $25 ( costs me lots more than the usual yarn) + the normal shipping for wherever you live.
Email me at fritzL234 AT yahoo DOT com if you want. Otherwise, they will gradually make their way to Etsy.

And that's what's new today.
Scrabblequeen - This is the thinking knitter's or crocheter's yarn. You really need to do a swatch to see what will look good in it. It's a very unusual yarn. When I get around to selling it, I'll need to include some pics of what it can do in the ads.
